Dog May Provide May Fever Cure
A Minneapolis fox terrier named Mitzie reportedly helped prove the human allergy hay fever can be diagnosed in animals. Dr. F. W. Wittich notes Mitzie’s nasal symptoms, skin tests transferring sensitivity to her owner, and ragweed pollen as the cause. The case suggests dogs and other animals may aid in developing hay fever cures and related tests for anaphylactic shock.
