Kaiser's Frogs Tell Wartime Tale on Chemin Des Dames

Amsterdam july 5 IWarl Rosner, a German emperor press agent, recounts a Lob Anzeiger story in which Crown Prince William tells his father a fable of frogs aiding German artillery at the Chemin Des Dames. The tale places the scene on a hill amid General von Francois’s army in June, describing frogs croaking loudly to mask German battery movements as the attack began. The conversation also covers the plan to blow the French castle at Coney le Chatoun near St Quentin, with the emperor noting warnings from military advisers about endangering German soldiers and stressing the protection of soldiers above all else.
