About twenty thousand Filipinos are ready to enlist, with a future mustering into the U S Army in sixty days. He praises their loyalty and fitness and notes his plan to return to the Philippines as the unit prepares to sail to the Islands.

At a San Antonio luncheon the Automobile Dealers Association denounced the view that their national level closing order is unnecessary locally. President Williamson cited a War Economy Board request for a nationwide 6 o'clock closing hour and committees were formed to publicize and secure pledges from dealers to comply. Lieutenant Chenault of Kelly Field assured teams their athletes were in prime condition for the competition.
