Vets Clash at War Veterans Meeting in Municipal Auditorium
A heated meeting called by Loy D. Rees in Corpus Christi's Municipal Auditorium descended into acrimony as veterans sparred over the Veterans Administration and the Legion. Speakers claimed grievances, with one survivor of the Lost Battalion challenging attendance, while others praised veteran organizations' aid and efforts to secure materials and equipment. The session also noted ongoing access issues to surplus government Jeeps and machinery amid postwar tensions.
