One-man safety drive urges children to stop running in streets
San Antonio painting contractor Ruperto Gonzalez has distributed 15 000 warning stickers to area schools since August urging children not to run across streets. Donated by local businesses, the red and white signs appear in most elementary classrooms and some outlying schools, targeting traffic fatality prevention. Gonzalez plans a January 27 FIA meeting with school officials to expand messaging through PTA channels and home safety emphasis.
