Swally Rogers of Lubbock walked through a downtown alley after lunch when about 20,000 dollars in bricks rained down from the top of a damaged 17 story skyscraper. The May 1970 tornado struck building caused the fall. No injuries were reported though several cars were damaged and police ordered evacuations of adjacent buildings until further notice.

Center (UP Li afany Schillings, an elite supervisor for the Liver Control Board in Lonaview, was found shot to death in the driveway of a Center funeral home Wednesday. Justice of the Peace Wesley Bailey called death by own action was suspected, but an inquest was held to reach a formal verdict.
