The Great Divide and theater roundups at local venues
A packed Grand Opera House welcomed The Great Divide with mixed opinions about its merit. Adelaide Norwalk excelled in the lead, while Lester Lonergan provided a natural primal man portrayal. The Big Tent again staged The Siege of the Alamo with action-packed scenes, and Empire showcased The Colonial Girl giving way to The Two Orphans and Anita the Singing Girl. Little Johnny Jones at Dallas Opera House drew praise for its music and lively performances led by George M. Cohan's team with standout turns by Billy Seymour and W. B. Patton, amid lavish staging and costumes.
