State aides face cuts as per capita funding drops

The Aen Antonio public school system risks a $250,000 shortfall if the state trims per capita allocations to $14.44 for 1854 and 1935. State auditor Moore Lynn warned Governor Sterling that revenue in sight for 1984 and 1995 could force reductions. Current apportionment stands at $16 per pupil, down from $17.60 last year, with four months of payments overdue and last year’s final installment only arriving this month. Telematic figures rely on last March’s scholastic census, and January February tax receipts may restore funds before the fiscal year ends May 3.
