San Antonio police detained a 19 year old youth believed linked to a seaman murder case in New York. Border patrol picked him up, later turning him over for investigation after officers found altered papers and baptism registry. Distinguishing marks were erased names. investigators sought confirmation from New York police.
San Antonio police report the tenth traffic death of the year, 57 year old C I Bryan of 410 North Street, struck by a car in the 1200 block of Nogalitos as it moved to change buses near the MN and 5 hospital. Bryan was a pedestrian.
City health engineer Philip M. Albright conducted a survey of privately owned wells, noting 181 deep wells serving hotels, stores, theaters and other establishments. He warned of many unsanitary shallow wells in Residential areas, especially Columbia Heights, Edinwood, Harlandale, Hot Wells, Woodlawn Hills and Terrell Hills.
Police reported a man identified as Teofil Ridenlee was found dead in his Nogalitos Street room Wednesday. W Holstrom, a local filling station operator, discovered the body beneath a bed. A trunk in the room contained $250.

McCrory, South Tilt continued the case, stating a four page statement and planning a full-scale grand jury investigation. Leonard Brown described Hay as swollen and red. Corley and Wiggington, both Dallas men, confessed under pressure, while Corley admitted his Tour paper confession was not fully true. Dr. Boyd examined Hay but could not determine cause or timing of bruises. Hay and Corley face complaints for attempted burglary of the drug store on February 15.
Theodore E. Mumme 83 of 417 Montana Street will be honored at 2 p m Thursday at Zizik Kearns Funeral Home. A retired merchant and realtor, he lived in San Antonio 65 years, was born in New Braunfels, served as city commissioner under Marshal Hicks and later county commissioner. He belonged to the Elks, San Antonio Pioneer Association and Woodmen of the World. Survived by his widow Roberta Erwin Mumme. Burial in Mission Park.
Townsendites State convention of the Townsend movement will be held at the municipal auditorium Sunday in WH Grant Club 21 president announced. Speakers include Mayor Alfred Callaghan L D Huckaba and Sen N Tyner with attendees from National Townsend Councilman Frank Gauthner Ft Worth Frank Melvin Houston Mrs M E Jackson Texas organizer Herb Watson Dallas Mrs W B Pearcy Houston and Latin American club representatives from Corpus Christi and Bay City.
R W Morrison of San Antonio, hotel owner and financier, contracted to buy 91 000 acres of the Callaghan ranch lands in Webb and La Salle counties from J H Frost for about 15 per acre. The run was part of a larger 213 000 acre liquidation last year by Joe Finley and David T Beals Jr. The Callaghan ranch, started circa 1870 by the late Charles Callaghan, once ran over 100 000 sheep and goats.
The City Water Board began casing a new artesian well at 2nd Street and Laredosis, with completion expected by week’s end. W B Masterson the general manager says the well will boost pressure in areas west and south of Commerce Street which had low pressure during the summer.
