Beach, Fla. detectives investigated a $73,000 theft at the Beachcomber night club after three masked gunmen robbed the 3 a.m. safe. Co‑owner Jack Castleman and four workers forced entry to the safe, with $48,000 in diamonds and Sophie Tucker’s jewelry reported missing. A second theft later that day involved Mr and Mrs H D Cornell of Kent, Texas, whose valuables were stolen from a closet safe. The Cornell loss was described as many thousands of dollars.

Thaw's Body To Leave Miami For Pittsburgh
The body of Harry K. Thaw, 76, the original Broadway playboy, will depart Miami Beach for Pittsburgh today.
