Garner Stand On Liquor and Democratic Nomination
Frank Rybk ent, visiting San Antonio, argues Garner’s stance on prohibition could affect a Democratic presidential nomination. He sees Garner as wavering on the eighteenth amendment but voting for dry measures at times, while noting factional rivalries and a broader push toward Hoover’s nomination amid reform sentiment. Kent, predicting a national vote shift, cites Garner’s impact on convention dynamics and a possible open Chicago meeting next June. Kentinish commentary also critiques prohibition laws and notes new voters may pressure repeal. Kent to speak at San Antonio Open Forum Monday evening.
