Austin February 21 The House of Representatives stalled for time as many members were absent to prevent quorum. A vote to compel attendance prompted warrants for arrest to secure the necessary presence. Several hundred unemployed men gather at Mercity hall in Chicago. Police clash with protesters using batons as leaders are blocked from addressing the crowd. Seven injured and several arrests reported in the unrest.

London reports that Mrs Halston of Ludla Shropshire visited an Anglesey churchyard to read a rebel inscription on her late husband’s grave and to erect a memorial above an empty grave. The court ruled there was no justification for the intrusion or the display.
