Harriman Wins Illinois Central Inquiry Over Harriman Control
In Chicago on February 20 1909 Judge Ball dissolved the temporary injunction blocking 286231 shares of Illinois Central stock from voting at the March 2 annual meeting. The suit, led by Stuyvesant Fish and allies, challenged Union Pacific and Railroad Securities voting rights, but the court found no concrete misdeeds and allowed the shares to vote, signaling a major victory for Harriman interests in the contested railroad control case.
