County Commissioners voted to proceed with Blanco road paving under a contract with W A Kelly of Kelly Construction. Teachers in 66 Minnesota towns stage a statewide boycott of St Paul schools and merchants after last week’s defeat of a charter amendment that would raise $3 million annually for operating funds. The measure aimed to support salaries and school improvements, following a five day strike by 150 St Paul teachers last November and December.
Austin reports bidding will begin soon on thirteen road-building projects in Central Texas authorized by the state highway commission. The 13 in Bexar and nearby counties are part of 46 total projects costing 3 204 076 22 dollars approved at the last commission meeting. The plan includes a study for Bexar County roads and a Loop route project linking Fort Sam Houston to the Bullis area with right-of-way work to follow.
