Hostess Faces New Trial in Slaying Case
New Orleans February 16 Distetch Attorney Charles A Byrne said today Mirile Barhes a 34 year old former nightclub host was to stand trial again in the torture murder of Joseph Famu Jaro five years ago. The woman’s first trial ended in a mistrial yesterday when the jury was discharged after reporting it was hopelessly deadlocked. One man is serving life imprisonment for the crime. Barhes was arrested in Oakland California and returned here after fingerprints revealed her identity.
