San Antonio pecan shelling strike spurred a two day Texas industrial commission hearing. Provisional findings described police interference and wage and living conditions in the industry as unjustified amid testimony from union leaders workers and church officials.
Rebecca Taylor, local manager of the International Ladies Garment Workers union, was labeled a traitor to organized labor by Dr Edwin Elliott of the National Labor Relations Board during testimony before the Texas Industry Commission in San Antonio. The hearing on the pecan shellers strike drew sharp exchanges as Elliott accused Taylor of betraying labor and police actions were criticized as overreaching.
A severe cold snap from western Canada drives icy weather southward across the Rockies and Great Plains. Snow, floods, and icy highways cause deaths in Colorado Wyoming Nebraska and Montana. Oklahoma reports flood stages as the blast disrupts travel and daily life.

They say farm commodities and food are too cheap while textiles and finished materials may need rise. A Treasury statistics group debated sector differences and will brief the president with findings on wholesale price indices near the 1920 level.
Treasury data shows fiscal year receipts of 5.73 billion and expenditures of 4.71 billion incl 1.26 billion emergency spending. Gross debt reaches 27.51 billion with a daily increase of 0.31 billion. Gold stock totals 12.76 trillion with 1.22 trillion inactive. month receipts 36.07 million versus 48.99 million outlays and 3.01 billion balance. Customs receipts 11.27 million.
