Hog prices fell $4 to $4.50 early in the week and steadied at $20 by Tuesday's close, reported Glen Ellison, market news specialist. Some cattle classes slid 25 to 50 cents while lambs underperformed. Trading was dull with receipts of 1600 cattle, 1500 calves, 400 hogs, 1100 sheep and 1400 goats.
Funeral services will be held at Porter Loring chapel at 10 a.m. Thursday for Mrs. Kate P. Miller 87 who died at her home 305 E Ashby p Tuesday. A former Galveston resident active in civic affairs she leaves a daughter Mrs Tennille Henderson sr. The body will be sent to Galveston for burial.
