Head Says to Get Industries Move in San Antonio
B G McGimsey president of the chamber of commerce told the San Antonio Credit Men's Association at the St Anthony hotel luncheon that two or three industries are plotting to move to San Antonio in the near future. He refused to name them but said the move of military installations was necessary and that the chamber had to the bottom of the situation. He predicted after the war San Antonio would have a permanent military establishment five to six times larger than before. He outlined a four part program including a city planning department an industrial department a farm and land department and a governmental research department. He urged business men to expand their ventures to absorb former workers and warned that many are afraid to expand without a plan. He urged greater public understanding of the chamber of commerce goals and invited groups to attend directors meetings.
