Ulster Gun Attack Wounds Two Soldiers in Omagh
In Omagh County Tyrone a machine gun attack wounded two off duty British soldiers in civilian clothes as a car opened fire. Army officials said both were hit, one in the chest and arm, the other in the stomach, with no military casualties reported. Reports linked the incident to ongoing Northern Ireland unrest and noted a tranquil Omagh prior to the attack.
