Liquor Law Test Games Next Week
A section of the Baskin McGregor liquor law will be heard next week in county court over an inclination suit brought by Gite Kimble proprietor of the Two Brothers galoon Crockett street. The case challenges a provision allowing wine growers to open display rooms without a license claiming discrimination and unconstitutionality. If the habeas corpus hearing rules for the defendant a wave of pending Bexar County suits could be blocked awaiting a higher court ruling. The outcome holds implications beyond Crockett street and could affect related cases statewide.
