AP reports 46 killed in fires this week across six states. Amsterdam New York saw a 12 death tenement fire blamed on an overflowing oil stove. New York kitten tenement fire from kerosene heater killed six more. Virginia Chuckatuck saw six children perish in a frame-home blaze. Georgia Rossville mother and four children died in an oil stove explosion. Indiana three children perished in a blaze from an overheated oil stove. Kentucky near Liberty two daughters and their mother died in a farm home fire started by kerosene. New Jersey an oil lamp caused a fire killing a 58 year old man in a farm shack.
