In Winnipeg Feb 1 a general court martial, the first in Canada in 21 years, convicted both defendants. Capt G Brown faced charges of conduct unbecoming an officer and misconduct with a brother of a wife. Capt R H Rebitt, husband of the woman involved, was accused of shooting a pistol at Captain Brown, his superior officer. He pleaded all unwritten law but it is not recognized in the British empire's army.
