Pennsylvania Key State in 1942 Redistricting Outlook
The 1942 congressional elections hinge on Pennsylvania as reapportionment reshapes the House. Pennsylvania would drop from 34 to 33 seats, affecting other states as gains and losses shift representation. With nine states redistricting, Pennsylvania faces potential at large elections if no district maps are drawn. Democrats hold 19 seats to Republicans 16, while historical patterns show shifting party strength across years.
