Oldest Human Skull Found Near Los Angeles Display
Scientists at the County Museum of Natural History and UCLA report the discovery of one of the oldest intact human skulls in the Western Hemisphere. Found in 1914 by workmen near Brea tar pits, the skull is estimated to belong to a woman around 2 years old and was tested using carbon dating to determine its extraordinary age. The artifact, impregnated with ancient minerals, will be exhibited outside the museum as part of the ongoing archaeology exhibit.
