Annual Review of 1938 Hollywood and Boxing Upsets
The piece blends a gag filled roundup by Mark Hellinger of 1938 cinema highlights and boxing misjudgments. It lists top films like Robin Hood and Alexander’s Ragtime Band, praises Errol Flynn, Alice Faye, Tyrone Power, and Don Ameche, and recaps notable scenes, with picks on sports bets and year-end reflections. It also includes humorous vignettes and a Christmas parade of public figures asking Santa for gifts, ending with a retrospective look at the year in film.
