Texas Colleges Rally to Support Teague GI Bill Plan

A broad coalition of private and denominational colleges in Texas join a national push to replace the Korean GI education bill with Rep. Olin Teague’s plan. Teague argues the lump-sum approach is fairer and lets GIs choose schools, while colleges say the current bill underfunds tuition and channels GIs to state schools. The fight also involves Milton Eisenhower and veterans groups, with federal agencies largely backing Teague.
