San Antonio Council Advances Radically Changed Billboard Law
The San Antonio council, in adjourned session, unanimously approves major amendments to the bill board provisions of the building ordinance. New rules require 104 inches of ground clearance, 20 feet between boards and property lines, maximum 300 square feet per board, and 12 feet from the lot line. Fireproof construction and metal frames are mandated for boards in certain districts, with enforcement to begin 90 days after passage. The meeting was harmonious with no dissent, and adjournment set to resume after Christmas.
