Grand Jury Indicts in Federal Case With Multiple Counts
Federal grand jury returned true bills charging numerous defendants with forgery theft and other offenses. Indictments named JK Weisiger former customs officer for breaking into a warehouse to steal government property and narcotics violations. Also charged were witness intimidation by R J Compton and others including postmaster John B Henry and National Guard Captain Herbert Beckerman with forging and embezzlement. Swain and many others face charges ranging from theft of shoe cases to distribution of morphine and unlawful wearing of military uniforms.
