An old recipe promises quick relief from stubborn coughs and chest colds. Mix a pint of hot water with 2 1/2 ounces of Pine, then add granulated sugar or strained honey to taste. The remedy allegedly soothes inflamed membranes, loosens phlegm, and delivers fast relief without spoiling.
The San Antonio Scientific Bull eters elected Gol. M. L. Crimmins to preside with Rev Edward Das as vice president. Dr David Cerna became second vice president and Chaplain Bateman, Avert B. Cushing, and Edward W. Hensinger joined as officers. An illustrated lecture by H. Schutter on art as educational photoze is planned for December 2.

Officials tracked an artist who created an elaborate hollow brick tunnel beneath a white tuberculosis ward at Wytin fore prison. The tunnel aimed to reach a room where three convicts were judged to be held, with a trapdoor facilitating an escape. If completed the tunnel would have allowed a break when the wall height rose.
The San Antonio Sales club will discuss a salesman’s course and a sales library at the regular luncheon at the Vinge hotel Thursday. Thomas Sutters, president, says a holiday program will be arranged at this meeting.
Willie Wright a 31 year old of 480 Dawson Street and another Black witness were fined and censured after a traffic collision at Water and North streets. Judge Dave Watson fined Wright 53 dollars in Corporation court, one of the highest traffic fines. Coons of 387 Gibbs Street testified Wright swerved, struck Coons, and overturned Coons car. Wright claimed he was driving slowly and that a female witness for Coons was not present. Officer Mergle testified against Wright about the collision and testimony.
A December 12 report states three men arrested for the December 11 Seven Valleys National Bank holdup near York confessed under questioning. The $10,000 stolen has been recovered.
In Austin on December 11 the prison centralization commission will recommend three sites to the legislature for a new state penitentiary plant. Two minority recommendations favor rehabilitating Huntsville walls and supporting the Superial Farm 20 miles south of Houston. The four members not in the majority were split two to two, within twenty miles of Austin.
