Minimum Wage Rules for Women and Minors in San Antonio
The Texas Industrial Welfare Commission sets a minimum wage of 11 cents per hour for learners and 12 dollars per week for 48 hours for experienced women and minors, with 16 to 20 cent learner rates and special provisions for part time workers, deficients, and piece work. The San Antonio Manufacturers Association notes no pay for noon Saturday closeouts unless required by law, and Mrs. Frances E. Sutherland explains the ruling and fielded disapproval while Knebel comments on learner limits and enforcement.
