Bill to bring Highway Dept under State Board of Control
Austin December 10 A bill is being drafted to place the State Highway Department under the supervision of the State Board of Control. State Senator A J Wirtz of Levin says it will be presented to the legislature next month as a cost saving measure. The plan would remove three highway commissioners and have the Board of Control handle highway affairs with its members always available for discussion. The move could jeopardize federal aid totaling about 4 570 00 if obstacles to receiving the funds are not removed.
