In Kansas City a federal court opened the trial of Major Charles Shepard charged with poisoning Mrs Zenava Shepard at Fort Riley in June 1920. Jury selection began after a plea of not guilty was entered. Witnesses include Miss Grace Brandon, 22, a San Antonio stenographer, who did not appear in court.
