Hartford man challenged mailable bridge party invitations
An Associated Press dispatch reports the U S post office rule that invitations to bridge parties with prizes are lotteries when prizes are offered. A Hartford man read of card parties with winnings and asked the postmaster general for guidance. The assistant attorney general E P Goodwin replied that such invitations are unmailable as lotteries.
