Draft Board Problems Under New Registration Law
Draft board officials face two main issues under the 1845 act. Cavalry volunteers who enlisted remain unreported to draft boards, causing clerical labor and miscounts of men available for calls. Some 1917 June registrants fear a second registration, though officials say one registration suffices. Captain Lawrence D. Collins promoted to major at Camp Travis.
