Berlin reports indicate American and German firms will resume peacetime relations without waiting for treaty ratification. Officials say commercial treaties will be negotiated, consular ties rebuilt, and credit lines established to import German surplus products into the U.S. market.
Washington reports the administration will seriously weigh pulling American forces from the Rhine after the peace treaty with Germany is ratified. About 1400 troops cost nearly a million dollars monthly, with no treaty obligation to maintain the occupation.
Mayor Black says all loyal officers will be protected when civil service begins and names Phil Wright to the civil service board. He plans to pass the ordinance soon and seek a public vote, extending civil service later to other departments and pledging to honor faithful workers who have served long.
Saturday's session saw fifty traffic cases with forty three violations of the traffic ordinance. Judge Rochester imposed fines totaling 425 dollars. Twenty five drivers were fined five dollars for passing street cars. Additional arrests targeted speeding careless driving unlawful parking open exhausts and unlit night driving. Three men faced vagrancy charges with one jailed 190 days and two fined fifty dollars.
Edward Green of San Antonio reports optimistic signs of a business revival after attending the National Florists Association convention in Washington. The city notes include local ads and brief items on fires, hardware and service trades, and social events with dates and venues around the area.
Townsend reports his Monterey Street garage theft of an auto to police. The car was found burning in a brush thicket near Alamo Heights with engine damage and torn components. Three youths were later arrested in Seguin, misidentified as bandits fleeing in a high powered vehicle.

The Dallas based Bureau of War Risk Insurance clean up squad arrives in San Antonio for a three day visit to clear outstanding government claims. Meetings begin Sunday at Red Cross headquarters with focus on special cases.
The American Legion announces claim adjustment meetings starting Monday at the Base hospital Fortham Houston with further sessions Tuesday at the Army Y M C A downtown. Ex service men with claims are urged to attend though a bureau representative may be sent to San Antonio if the squads cannot handle all cases. Cleanup squads of five men conduct final claim adjustments nationwide.
A May or Black led committee visits Brackenridge Park to select a permanent site for the International Exposition and Livestock Show. The tract lies between Alamod avenue and Rock Quarry road with promising boundaries. If chosen, permanent buildings would rise for next fall’s exposition. about 125000 dollars has been raised so far. Definite decision awaits. In Chicago a autumn tenant migration drops from 100000 to 25000 due to moving costs and rent deadlock.
