A bobsled ride on Kostal Island at Hemisfair caused a man to be ejected from a passenger car. William Wadlington, 24, of Belzoni Mississippi, remained in serious condition at Santa Rosa Medical Center with severe head injuries after a ball joint failed and a safety strap broke. An unidentified soldier provided first aid before Wadlington was transported to the hospital.
With four months left in the year, San Antonio has already logged 546 robberies. Robbery 546 occurred at 5 pm Sunday when a youth with a pistol held up the Tradevinds Ice House at 600 Rigsby and fled with about 40 dollars. He was arrested near the scene shortly afterward.
