B 29s Plaster Reds In Ground Support Strike
B 29s dropped more than 850 tons of bombs on the Red troops near Waegwan on the Naktong front. Ninety eight B 29s from Okinawa and Japan bases joined the assault, delivering 30 000 rounds of heavy artillery equivalent. The operation aimed to collapse as many as four to six divisions and support ground troops in the Taegu to Pusan corridor.
