Relief in Tax Payment Arguments Before Bexar Court
Judge Fitzhugh urged the San Antonio Taxpayers League to consider delaying delinquency penalties in budgeting. He said 35 percent of the assessed value may be delinquent, shifting loss onto those who pay. He noted state tax calculations fix rates, while local estimates tax $110,000,000 on $10,000,000 assessed value, leaving $60,000,000 untaxed and potentially causing an excess levy of about $426,000 at 71 cents per $100.
