San Antonio health officials urged employers to require health cards for sitters cooks maids and house workers. Tuberculosis control chief Dr C I Koerth cited a city survey showing 2540 of 68 799 food handlers had TB and urged exams and chest X rays for domestic workers to curb the high TB death rate.

Blind mother seeks work after divorce in Alameda
Betty June Crossett, 23, blind with two young children, asked a Superior Court judge for alimony but preferred employment. Judge A J Woolsey granted the divorce after Crossett testified her husband Reginald, 28, struck her and her seeing eye dog and led her toward railroad crossings despite her fear of trains. The couple had been married two and a half years and share two sons aged 18 months and 8 months.

Water Safety Course Offered by Red Cross Chapter
The Bexar County Chapter American Red Cross will conduct a water safety course at Roosevelt Pool starting Monday August 16. Registration opens at 2 a.m. Classes run Monday through Friday from 8 to 11 a.m., with Mrs. Richard L. Brandt as chairman. Commended for Sixth Sense Aids Pilot Landing
Staff Sgt. George Eager of the Air Communication squadron at Kelly AFB earned praise for a “sixth sense” that helped a Lowry AFB pilot transmit guidance and land safely by clearing traffic and halting ground vehicles. Red River Producer Sued Over Copyright Claims
