Insanity Trial in Probate Court Describes Coleman Threats
Testimony in a probate court yesterday morning described Coleman as a man of strange action and expressed views about Dr. Darney Berrey County Judge Peter Jonas and Attorney James Cahill. Witnesses said Coleman spoke of fixing these men, was arrested by Deputy Sheriff Will Green, and had attacked John Rather during the arrest. Dr Berrey testified Coleman was insane last March and confined, later released from the asylum. Coleman, a familiar figure in the business district, was noted for a heavy cane and erect gait. Court records note Roy Cahill conducted the prosecution with Judge Jonas presiding.
