Commissioner Albert Maverick Jr opposes, saying fewer precincts means fewer constables and deputies. Commissioners Uhomae H Abbott and A G Trasvalter call the plan drastic and seek more time. Counts Tastiers of the Peace and Constables Inc backs restoring precincts with clearer boundaries and policing reforms.
