Gas Crisis in San Antonio Faces Utility Constraints
San Antonio faces a gas supply squeeze as CPS general manager J T Dealy warns of a lifestyle impact. A new delivery plan reduces available gas to 189 million cubic feet daily from 245 million, complicating storage goals and raising anticipated relief only from mild autumn weather. CPS urges customers to cut power use by 30 percent while planners adjust to the cutbacks and a revised allocation schedule from Coastal States Gas Producing Co. The shift comes ahead of winter storage targets and amid the Texas Railroad Commission's priority rules.
