Posthumous Air Medal for pilot honored by mother at Stinson Field
The force pilot received the Air Medal posthumously. Presentation was made to his mother Mrs. Mary Pittman at Stinson Field by Lieut. Col Lenox G Haldeman. The awarding of the Bronze Star and Silver Star honors to servicemen who earned recognition in Europe is noted, including Rudy Menchaca of the 63rd Infantry and his battlefield actions against a German pillbox.
