More Money to Complete Sewer Work in South Heights
The city commissioners approved an extra appropriation of 13000 to pay W. A. Sohnwirth for additional work on the sewer and sanitary systems in South Heights. The original 96000 contract did not cover right of way, extra work, or larger pavement. Budget provisions were made from the general fund. Also approved were 6300 for drainage ditches in Beackenridge Park and 4500 for drainage culverts under River Avenue. An additional 1700 was allotted for a water station concrete in Travis Street. The railroad explains an error in city estimates affecting a traffic way, with city bearing the added cost of black brick pavement at intersections.
