City ends Lions Field control and backs club funding
John Hansard announces the city will withdraw from managing Lions Field and the playground department, sharing expenses with the club. Higgins reports 23 applicants for field supervisor, with William Duz of Waco the leading candidate and three assistants to handle dancing, voice and expression, and athletics. Stokes notes potential conference with Lions Club president A S. Heffington from Fort Worth is favored, and the recreation board will cooperate without dictating administration.
