O'Daniel vows independence as Senate awaits defense vote
Texas senator W Lee O'Daniel declares he is no yes man pledging 100 percent support for the president while acting within the Constitution. He condemns the army service extension bill as breaking faith with soldiers, urges Congress to fund defense and avoid extending service beyond 12 months, and urges fair treatment of troops and production measures.
