Hundreds visit Katy's exhibit of America's finest railroad equipment aboard the Texas Special. A novel telephone connection at principal terminals enhances service on the train. The Missouri-Kansas-Texas Lines promote its pioneering program with air conditioned lounge and dining cars, highlighting ongoing modernization in the Southwest.
San Antonio residents inspected one of four new air-cooled lounge cars placed in service on the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Lines Texas Special between St Louis and San Antonio. The cars feature all steel frames, acoustically treated walls, rubber truck cushions, and other modern comforts, aligning with the Katy’s deluxe air-cooled dining cars. The exhibit at Katy Station at Flores and Durango Streets will stay open to the public until 10 p.m.
