A promotional notice invites readers to subscribe to the San Antonio Light to win one of 500 new Black Beauty bicycles valued at 65 dollars. It urges quick action and promises a special girl’s model, stressing immediate delivery and no money required until delivery. The ad targets 47 fellows and emphasizes hurry before others claim the bikes.
An advertisement touts the Black Beauty bicycle as the top built and most serviceable option with a five year guarantee and six month accident repair insurance. It lists frame sizes, materials, leather saddles, nickel-plated components, a modern coaster brake, chrome bearings, lights, tools, and color options in a lively period tone.
San Antonio and Southwest Texas residents not now receiving The Light may enter the contest. Fifty subscriptions must be secured between now and September 15 1921 to qualify.
Readers are urged to secure fifty subscriptions on blanks from The San Antonio Light and turn them in. After verification of the fifty subscriptions, the prize, the Black Beauty, is awarded. The contest runs until September 15 or until verification is complete.
Instructions to enter the bicycle contest from the San Antonio Light Bicycle Department. Apply by phone to Crockett 1742 or mail the attached coupon with subscription books and other particulars between 8 230 and 5 pm. Submit to the Bicycle Department for entry.
