City Council grapples with tight revenue in 9.5 million budget
The City Council unveiled a 9.5 million revenue sharing plan with only 1.1 million undersigned funds for multiple special projects. Mayor Granata warned funds are tight as federal Model Cities money ends August 31, triggering large requests and a public hearing set for August 22 with final approval due by August 3. Major allocations include 952,120 for first responders, 553,000 for two man police patrols, 321,000 for 32 more officers, 250,000 for 25 more firemen, and 500,000 for a tax reappraisal program.
