Insurance Rate Cuts Vary Across Texas Regions
The State Insurance Board cut car coverage rates by about 11 per cent on Sept. 1 with larger drops in metropolitan areas. In Wichita Falls and Midland Odessa the reduction nears 20 per cent. Bumpers that absorb front and rear crashes qualify drivers for additional discounts up to 20 per cent, and an eight hour defensive driving course earns a 10 per cent liability and collision cut. 1973 cars qualify for the bumper discount, with Saab models and some foreign cars eligible for higher cuts.
